CLUB MEETING SEPT. 2 — The next general meeting of the Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club will be on Sunday, Sept. 2, at the DOCOF competition in the Events Center at Osceola Heritage Park in Kissimmee, Fla. DOCOF (Dog Obedience Clubs of Florida) is an annual team obedience competition involving 30 teams from around the state. The meeting will begin when DOCOF breaks for lunch, which will be at approximately noon. Meeting location will be the lobby of the Events Center and members should bring their own chairs for the meeting. Osceola Heritage Park is located at 1875 Silver Spur Lane, Kissimmee, FL 34744. DOCOF competition begins at 8 a.m. and MFGRC members are invited to come early and watch some of the very unique event. IMPORTANT NOTE: Club members should NOT bring their dogs to the meeting.
All members of the Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club who earn new titles for their dogs during calendar year 2017 are eligible to receive a new title rosette from the club. The rosettes will be similar to this one from 2016:
If your dog has won a new title in 2017, please email the full name of the dog and what the title earned was to MFGRC vice president Ann Rowe. Ann will order the rosettes later this year and make them available for pickup early next year.

TRACKING FUN DAY & GENERAL MEETING
The next general meeting for the Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club will be held on Sunday, April 2, as part of the club’s Tracking Fun Day in Ocala, Fla. The Tracking Fun Day was designed to give club members an opportunity to try the sport of tracking in a no-pressure, fun atmosphere under the expert guidance of accomplished trackers/trainers Pat Flynn and Susie Rezy. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR AGILITY TRIAL
The MFGRC’s next big event is the Agility trial being held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22-23 at the Grand Oaks Resort near Lady Lake, Fla. Some volunteers are needed to work as gate steward, scribe and timer – if you can help at all, including all three days, one day or part of a day, please contact volunteer coordinator Pat Carlile at email@example.com. Also, setup will be on Thursday, April 20, and anyone who would like to help would also be welcomed; please let Pat know.
FUN FIELD DAY, GENERAL MEETING SET FOR MAY 7
On Sunday, May 7, the MFGRC will hold a Fun Field Day/Intro to Field Training, along with a general meeting, at the Richwood South Training Center in Morriston, Fla. Even if you’re not currently running your dogs in hunt tests or field trials, it’s a great opportunity to experience Goldens enjoying their natural instincts. Field Day will begin at 9 a.m. with a lunch break and club general meeting at approximately noon (bring your own lunch). More details to come.

We need someone to be responsible for hospitality at this event, basically providing the judges and workers with lunches and beverages.
