MFGRC to Hold Special Election Saturday Night

A special election will be held at the Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club’s Christmas Party/Annual Meeting on Saturday, Dec. 16, to choose the seven people who will compose the club’s board for 2018.  Nine club members have volunteered and been nominated for the board but the club’s by-laws limit the board to seven members.

Nominations for 2018 Officers and Board

In accordance with the by-laws of the Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club, the Nominating Committee has nominated the following club members to be officers and board members in 2018:

At our Nov. 18 general meeting at the Ocala show, any member may make additional nominations. If the proposed candidate is not present at this meeting, the person nominating must provide a written statement from the nominated individual stating acceptance of the nomination. If this occurs, the nominated individual then is considered a candidate.

Voting for these positions will be held at the club’s Annual Meeting on Saturday, Dec. 16, in conjunction with the club’s Christmas Party at the home of Ann Rowe in Sorrento, Fla.

In addition to the above, two other club members will assist the 2018 officers and board in non-voting positions: Pat Carlile will continue as assistant secretary and Laura Topping will handle the duties of membership chair.

Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club News and Notes – March, 21 2017

TRACKING FUN DAY & GENERAL MEETING

The next general meeting for the Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club will be held on Sunday, April 2, as part of the club’s Tracking Fun Day in Ocala, Fla. The Tracking Fun Day was designed to give club members an opportunity to try the sport of tracking in a no-pressure, fun atmosphere under the expert guidance of accomplished trackers/trainers Pat Flynn and Susie Rezy. VOLUNTEERS NEEDED FOR AGILITY TRIAL

The MFGRC’s next big event is the Agility trial being held Friday, Saturday and Sunday, April 21-22-23 at the Grand Oaks Resort near Lady Lake, Fla. Some volunteers are needed to work as gate steward, scribe and timer – if you can help at all, including all three days, one day or part of a day, please contact volunteer coordinator Pat Carlile at pat_golden_boy@yahoo.com. Also, setup will be on Thursday, April 20, and anyone who would like to help would also be welcomed; please let Pat know.

 

FUN FIELD DAY, GENERAL MEETING SET FOR MAY 7

On Sunday, May 7, the MFGRC will hold a Fun Field Day/Intro to Field Training, along with a general meeting, at the Richwood South Training Center in Morriston, Fla. Even if you’re not currently running your dogs in hunt tests or field trials, it’s a great opportunity to experience Goldens enjoying their natural instincts. Field Day will begin at 9 a.m. with a lunch break and club general meeting at approximately noon (bring your own lunch). More details to come.

MFGRC To Host Heart-Eye Clinic June 3

The Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club will host a heart and eye clinic in conjunction with the CCA it is staging on Saturday, June 3, in Crystal River, Fla. The clinic is open to ALL BREEDS on a first-come, first-served basis (must -pre-register with the form below) and dogs do not have to be participating in the CCA to attend the clinic.
