Again we are emailing the application for the Dog of the Year awards which are due November 30th.
To clarify, there are a number of awards available and we encourage all members who meet the meeting/volunteer requirements and who have competed with their dog this year to apply!
Entries are now being accepted for the Gold Standard Challenge, a unique award open to MFGRC members who compete as an owner-handler with one dog in both field and conformation. Full details are available here. All applicants who meet the requirements will be awarded a special prize. The Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club will hold a CCA (Certificate of Conformation Assessment) combined with a cardiac/eye clinic on Saturday, March 31, 2018, at the MADTA (Marion Alachua-Dog Training Association) facility in Ocala, Florida.
Evaluators for the CCA will be Christine Miele, Janet Narushka and Margie Sarkin. The event will begin at 9 a.m.
The CCA has a limited entry of 21, with three alternates accepted by first received. Entries should be sent to Robin Bowen, 3001 SW College RD, PMB #41, Ocala, Fla., 34474. The cost is $75 per entered dog and checks made out to MFGRC should accompany entries.
The Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club is holding a 50/50 raffle with proceeds to be donated to the Smiling Blue Skies Canine Cancer fund. The club will be matching the money raised.
The club will be selling tickets at the upcoming hunt test, Specialty and Christmas party.

The Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club will hold a general meeting and pot luck lunch on Saturday, Nov. 18, at the Ocala show. Goldens show at 1 p.m. in Ring 1 and the club meeting will start immediately after (approximately 3 p.m.).
After the meeting, Rosa Blair, who is a certified master groomer, will give a demonstration of grooming the tails of Golden Retrievers and will be available to answer any questions club members may have.
