A word about MFGRC End of Year Awards

Dear members,

Again we are emailing the application for the Dog of the Year awards which are due November 30th.

To clarify, there are a number of awards available and we encourage all members who meet the meeting/volunteer requirements and who have competed with their dog this year to apply!

Within the application there is a point schedule for each venue: Show, Obedience, Rally, Field, Agility and Tracking. These individual venues each have an award available:

SHOW DOG OF THE YEAR
OBEDIENCE DOG OF THE YEAR
RALLY DOG OF THE YEAR
AGILITY DOG OF THE YEAR
FIELD DOG OF THE YEAR
TRACKING DOG OF THE YEAR

If you have earned points in ANY three venues throughout the year with your dog, add up your points and you are eligible for VERSATILITY DOG OF THE YEAR. ANY of the three venues. Unlike GRCA VC/VCX awards we do not *require* conformation and/or field to be eligible.

The FALLCHASE OWNER-HANDLER OF THE YEAR award is a special award for HANDLERS who have won with their dog in the show ring. Please use the point scale for the “Show Dog of the Year” and include points for all owner-handled wins with any and all dogs you have owner-handled this year. Next year we will revise this point scale to include wins in the AKC National Owner-Handler Series. The trophy for the Fallchase Owner-Handler of the Year Award was donated to the club by Barbara Tucker.

A separate form for the Gold Standard Award has also been sent to club members and is posted on the club website and Facebook pages. This is an award for dogs who have been owner-handled to accomplishments in BOTH Field and Conformation events in the same year.

Reminder, please mail in your award applications to Betty Lambert, whose address is on the form.
