GRCA National Specialty Canceled for 2020

The Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club was notified today (April 15) that the World Equestrian Center, which was to be the site for the club’s hosting of the 2020 Golden Retriever Club of America National Specialty, has canceled all its events until March of 2021 due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Therefore, there will be no GRCA National Specialty this year.

The MFGRC board will be holding a special meeting to determine next steps. We ask that everyone please be patient and we will provide further information as soon as we can.

Thanks to everyone who has worked on preparations for the 2020 National and thanks to Golden exhibitors and friends around the country (and world) who were planning to come.

MFGRC Cancels Spring Agility Trial

The Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club has canceled its Spring Agility Trial due to the coronavirus outbreak. The event, which was to have been held April 17-18-19 at Grand Oaks Resort in Weirsdale, Fla., will not be rescheduled.

Exhibitors are asked to contact trial secretary Jill Roberts at superbasset@gmail.com to let her know if she can shred their entry check. Exhibitors who have made deposits at Grand Oaks should contact Lori Mount at (352) 750-5500 x 231.

The MFGRC will hold its Fall Agility Trial at Grand Oaks Oct. 9-10-11. The event will be all-breed with judges Cindy Deak and Don Wittke.

The MFGRC is also hosting the 2020 Golden Retriever Club of America National Specialty in October at the new World Equestrian Center in Ocala, Fla. The event will include Agility for Goldens on Monday, Oct. 19. In addition, the club will hold a Goldens-only agility trial on Sunday, Oct. 18. Judges for both will be John Defilippi and Dave Hirsch.
