New March Edition of “Golden Tales” Now Available 

The March, 2023, edition of “Golden Tales,” the official newsletter of the Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club, is now available for reading and downloading on the club website. 

The new editions contains features and content not available anywhere else. And as always, members are recognized for their achievements with their Goldens.

A reminder to MFGRC members that “Golden Tales” editor Chris Jeffrey is always in the market for good content for the newsletter. Ideas can be sent to her at newsletter@mfgrc.org. The next edition will come out in June.

MFGRC Confirms 2023 Officers and Board

The leadership of the Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club for 2023 was confirmed by vote during the club’s Annual Meeting held Saturday night in conjunction with the Christmas party at the home of club member Cindy Patz in Windermere, Fla. .

Confirmed were the following officers and board members, whose terms began immediately upon the vote:

MFGRC Presents 2022 Year-End Awards

The Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club presented its 2022 year-end awards at the club’s annual Christmas party on Dec. 17 at the home of club member Cindy Patz in Windermere, Fla.

NEW EVENT: MFGRC To Hold Fun Field Training Day on Dec. 11

Come out for a fun field day/ Mock test with the Mid-Florida Golden Retriever Club!

IF YOU HAVE A PUPPY~~~ please come! IF YOU HAVE A VETERAN…Please come. All experience levels welcome! 

This is a wonderful opportunity to let your puppy learn what s/he was bred to do! Plus it’s a great socializing/exercise time and you’ll get a full night’s sleep after.

Breeders– tell your puppy people! 

Open to all, not just members.

State your level, all levels welcome: puppy, Junior, Senior, Master -to total beginners are welcome and we’d love to see you expose your dogs to what they were bred to do. Kristin Sipus (Richwood Goldens) and Brian Parker (Southern Retrievers) will provide training tips and help anyone who wants it. 

Starts at 9 AM on Sunday, Dec. 11, at  29810 County Rd 42 Deland, FL

First live flyer free if you have worked any event this year. 

If not, cost is by bird (as is cost for more than one live flyer- birds are discounted to $15 in an effort to recoup some of the cost to the HT). Take your dead ducks home w you to freeze and reuse if you like. 

Come train in a test situation!!! 

We will need everyone to pitch in and help, throwing birds/ operating equipment,  moving equipment, marshal etc. 

We will break for lunch. This is a great time to get to know other members and ask questions. Bring your lunch, water and a chair…. stay all day!

Fair warning you just might catch the field bug😉

Entry Premium Available for Dec. 16 MFGRC Specialty 

The premium list is now available for the annual MFGRC Specialty that will be held Friday, Dec. 16, as part of Royal Canin AKC National Championship week in Orlando. The even will be held at the Orange County Convention Center. 

The judge for all classes is Ms. Dianne Tyree of Brookline, N.H.
